Thanks for stopping by, whether that was from a talk, the meetup, or LinkedIn.

What I’d actually take

These are the ones I hold or have taken myself, not a list pulled from a catalog:

  • LFCS (Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator). The exam is performance based, you work in a real shell against real tasks. If you want a solid Linux foundation for ops, SRE, or backend work, start here. I hold this one.
  • CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer). Also performance based. If you’re a developer deploying to Kubernetes rather than running clusters, this is the right one of the Kubernetes certs. I hold this one too.
  • LFD121 (Developing Secure Software). Free course, no excuse not to take it. I took it and still reference it.

If you’re an admin or platform engineer rather than a developer, look at the CKA instead of the CKAD.

Questions about any of these? Find me at the meetup or message me on LinkedIn.
